How safe are products containing the svanemæket?

Lets take a look!

Here are the ingredients of a so-called “safe for babies” shampoo with the Svanemæket.:

Babyshampoo (svanemærket)
Aqua,
Sodium Laureth Sulfate
,Glycerin
,Cocamidopropyl Betaine
,Sucrose Cocoate
,TEA-Lauryl Sulfate
,
Sodium Chloride
,Phenoxyethanol
,Citric Acid
,Sodium Benzoate

Sodium Laureth Sulfate is known to cause:
  • Hormone imbalance
  • Eye irritation/eye disorders in children
  • Cancer
  • Low sperm count/Minimize fertility
  • Permanant eye damage in animals “according to US Toxicologists”

Glycerin-
  • Cancer
  • Reproductive issues
  • Organ system toxicity
  • endocrine system issues
  • brain and nervous system effects
  • skin irritation

Now I have only takeen the first two ingredients ..
Feel free to scan the rest of the ingredients here
And see for your self.

According to the INCI ingredient system we use here in Denmark The ingredients are in order of volume, so that would say apart from water, this products is almost all Sodium laureth sulphate and glycerin.

Fair enough you have a point these products are cheap!
Costing only 35kr on the internet.
But  money isn’t everything right? Or is it?

Wouldn’t you expect that a product with the svanemærket should at least be safe enough to use on your children?

This proves that you have to really be careful when buying products and read the label! If you cant see the ingredients listed, DON’T BUY IT! You may be putting you and your families health at risk.
