Are you coating your face in a chemical cocktail?

When choosing makeup it is like choosing your poison.
Many women blindly put on makeup thinking it is a safe and harmless way to enhance their beauty. But it isn’t, makeup is very harmful because it can enter you body in many different ways, Cosmetics also contain moisturisers that help the more dangerous toxins in penetrating their way into your skin.

European studies show that the fragrance in a product causes up to 15% of allergic reactions in people that have eczema.

Most people will never know what is in fragrance, as up to 4000 chemicals can be put together and listed as fragrance. Even the simple fragrances can have up to 50 ingredients.

According to the FDA many of these have even been labeled “toxic waste”

When shopping for makeup go after these guidelines:

  1. Read the Label carefully. Don’t believe meaningless claims of “organic”, “natural”, “vegan” and “not tested on animals”. These claims are a Lie. The ingredients label will tell you the truth. Make a list of ingredients you want to avoid. Write them on a card and take it with you when you go shopping.

  1. Be careful trusting that product formulations stay the same. They DON’T! They differ from batch to batch sometimes. Manufactures change their ingredients from batch to batch depending on what is cheapest or most readily available. Price is not a guarantee for the safety of a product either. Time and time again I look up the ingredients of an expensive so-called “SAFE” product only to find that certain cheaper products are much safer.

  1. Stay away from products that are shiny glittery, or frosted. These are some of the worst for your health. In order to get these effects the manufacturers use fish scales, mica, and pure aluminum. Remember aluminum is related to Alzheimer’s disease.

  1. Use lip-gloss instead of lipstick, as it has less colour ingredients. Be careful, as some lip-glosses are high in phenol, which can cause paralysis, death, and respiration problems in eaten. Small quantities are related to pimples, swelling and rashes.

  1. Don’t use Sweet lip products as they contain saccharin, which is suspected to cause cancer. And phthalic anhydride (made from naphthalene), that is known to cause headaches vomiting and is related to brain damage and kidney problems in infants.

  1. And lastly, try to avoid synthetic make-up as much as possible.
